Pawai Mata Mandir
The history of the Pawai Mata Mandir, located in the Ater block of Bhind district, is about a thousand years old. This temple was built by the Gurjar Pratihara kings in the 11th century. During Navratri, devotees rush to visit the Mata seated in Pawai village, and a huge fair is organised here on the day of Navami and Dussehra.
The temple priest Shri Kishun Das ji has said that the famous temples of Rajasthan state, Mata Karauli Devi and Pawai Mata, are both sisters. All the devotees from Bhind district who go to visit Karauli Mata have to come back and visit Pawai Mata; only then is their worship considered successful.
